How to Size Your Pond

Here is the guide of all you need to know about sizing your pond.  This information will come in handy from building a pond and picking out the right liner and pump, knowing how many fish to add to your pond, to how much of a water treatment to use.  If you are just starting to build a pond, keep in mind that a pond will look smaller than anticipated once rocks and landscaping are filled in around a pond, so it is always best to go larger when in doubt.

First determine if your pond will be shaped more like an oval or a square.  Next, you will need to know the length, width, minimum depth, and maximum depth as many ponds are built with varying depth levels.  We will be providing formulas for the US and metric system using feet and meters.
